I cant help but to think of it as more the rock &quot;falling&quot; forward, as opposed to walking. 

Mabey it should be called the &quot;magie Simpson&quot; effect. 

It&#039;s the same way you dig you&#039;re car out of a bog, if you get stuck. Dig a hole infront of the tyre, so you&#039;re going &quot;downhill&quot;.

(in central australia, we get rock that are very round, they are made of many layers of clay, and the small rocks roll on the flat desert, and over a long period build up in size. 

(I think they are locally called &#039;devils marbels&quot;).</description>
