LeVar Burton tells You about MAVEN

With the launch of the Mars MAVEN mission only a few days away, there’s a new video out from NASA about this endeavor, shared with viewers by actor LeVar Burton. Most of us know him as the fantastic actor who brought Kunta Kinte to life in Roots and of course, the super-smart engineer Geordi LaForge on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Many of the younger crowd also know Mr. Burton from Reading Rainbow. It’s no surprise that Mr. Burton is a huge advocate of science education. I think that his PSA adds a lot of excitement to the launch of this intriguing mission to find out just what happened to the atmosphere of Mars over the past few billion years.  Check out the PSA below and be sure and tune in on Monday, November 18, when MAVEN is lofted on its way to the Red Planet!
