365 Days of Astronomy for June 14, 2010
There are many sources of astronomy literature and poetry. People have created verse about the stars from the time of the earliest people looking up at the sky. The stars inspire us to dream and create, and that is reflected in our cultural output. Formy June 14, 2010 podcast, I concentrated on a few snippets from literature I grew up with, but there are many references to stars in ALL the world’s cultural offerings. I invite you to read these few, but also go on a quest of your own, to see what other cultures have written about the sky. Google is a great place to get started; simply type in “astronomy poetry” and see where it takes you.
