In just a few weeks, on New Year’s Eve, the New Horizons spacecraft is going to sweep past the tiny world Ultima Thule. It’s the next stop on the mission’s “grand tour” of the Kuiper Belt. You may recall that it went past Pluto in 2015. It’s been tooling along all this time, and now Act II is about to open.

The New Horizons team has opened up a portal that allows anyone to send a greeting via New Horizons on January 1, 2019. All you have to do is head over to the Greeting Page at the New Horizons site and fill in the form!  You’ll be joining me (and many others) who have already signed up.

In return, you’ll get a cool certificate to print out and show everybody. Or, make it a cute holiday card greeting for someone you know!  The portal is only open through December 21, so check it out now.  See you at Ultima Thule!!
